"FABLED" is an acronym that is made up of the first letters of player character attributes. It stands are Foresight, Aptitude, Brawn, Longevity, Esteem, and Dexterity.

The FABLED system is clearly inspired by the SPECIAL system seen in the Fallout series of games (Interplay, Bethesda). It borrows many of the methods, though there have been modifications in order to make it work in the environment. It was originally to be called SPLICED, but developers wanted to take inspiration from, rather than rip off, the Fallout franchise. The first iteration was also called "FABLED!", with the exclamation point representing luck, but it was later abridged.
Implementation[]
The points a player puts into each attribute of FABLED subsequently determine many derived statistics, such as HP, Difficulty Rating, AP, MP, and the starting percentages of all the standard skills.
